Management and Leadership
Develop Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Plan
Description of Action:
Our preference for organic material eliminates spending on toxic synthetic chemicals and pesticides and thus lessens support for the corporations that make them, and increases the incentive for healthier alternatives.
Provide Environmentally Preferable Products Services
Description of Action:
Our turf applications, flea, tick, and mosquito prevention techniques, choice of plants (including native), rain gardens, and corrective services such as root collar excavation and soil health management are all organic and ecologically conscious. We provide a more healthy and sustainable alternative to toxic synthetic pesticides which benefits the friends, families, and pets of our clients as well as native animals, insects, and the plants themselves.
Aspirational Goals
Description of Action:
We strive to not only spread awareness in the community and reach people who will help us do so - our internal goals toward increased sustainability are just as vital and include transitioning our power equipment to all electronically-powered (rechargeable onsite with solar-powered trailer) a to lessen our use of fossil fuels.
Water
Water Conservation
Description of Action:
A property with native plants (and rain gardens) requires less water and soil maintenance than one with non-natives. Our practices save clients money in water bills and maintenance costs. Note: Native plants save our clients 20-50% of their outdoor water use per year. The below numbers are approximate based on that range.
