Description of Action:
Since NJ Audubon’s mission is to forester environmental awareness and a conservation ethic among NJ citizens, protect NJ birds, mammals, other animals and plants, especially threatened species, and promote preservation of Nj’s natural habitats, our staff shares our successes and helps others to also implement conservation work by performing numerous environmental/conservation related presentations and workshops to the general public, municipalities, corporate entities, farmers and school groups throughout the year. Additionally the staff at the Wattles Stewardship center regularly present our work and projects at various environmentally related forums or conferences associated including but not limited to: The Wildlife Society, the Soil & Water Conservation Society, the annual NJ Land Conservation Rally, the Association of Field Ornithologists, the Wilson Ornithological Society, the National Bobwhite Quail Conservation Initiative, the NJ Stewardship Roundtable, the Coalitional for the Delaware Watershed, the Society of American Foresters, the National Short Leaf Pine Initiative. Furthermore, NJ Audubon staff write numerous articles and posts on NJ Audubon social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Linked-in, etc.), the NJA Stewardship Blog and our New Jersey Audubon Magazine (circulation 26,000). Additionally, we work with other businesses regarding habitat restoration through our NJ Audubon Corporate Stewardship Council and community outreach through various USDA-NRCS and NJDFW conservation initiatives.
