Marty's Reliable Cycle has reduced the amount of trash sent to landfills by 7.6 tons in 2014. They recycled office paper, mixed paper, corrugated, aluminum, plastic and glass containers. (1 ton = 2000 lbs)

Used Bikes are donated to Pedals for Progress and the Newark Bike Exchange. Parts are donated to Resource Revival for use in artwork production. Approximately 100 bikes weighing 30 lbs each are donated for reuse each year.

Description of Action: 
All cardboard, cans,plastic and paper is recycled by staff. Morristown receives credit from the county towards recycling. All bicycles chains are recycled and sent to Resource Revival in Mosier, Oregon. We receive no money but they reuse all the chains. We recycle all wheels and other metal parts.

Founded Gran Fondo NJ. A community cycling event that attracts over 2,000 people per year and offers events from 18 to 107 miles affording people of all ability levels to become fit through cycling. Free kids event - Kid Fondo. The event donates over $65,000 per year to local charities.To date the event has generated over $1M for charities either through direct donations or through fundraising.
