Description of Action: 
In 2021, Rutherford Swim Association installed water dispensers in order to reduce the use of plastic water bottles. Since installion the water stations have refilled well over 4 thousand water bottles.

Hazardous Waste/Toxic Use Reduction
Description of Action: 
Rutherford Swim has reduced the use of chlorine in the aquatic center by utilizing an ultraviolet light that sanitizes water. By utilizing this piece of equipment the chlorine levels and fumes are reduced substantially.
Community
Improve Indoor Air Quality
Description of Action: 
In 2021 Rutherford Swim added an air sanitizers system known as bio-ox. Which reduces the amount of chloramines that are in the air. This has made the pool environment much easier to breathe. Also in 2021, Rutherford Swim received a grant from the state which we utilized to add a new air duct air handler system. This system constantly pulls in fresh air from the outside on to the pool deck.
Serve Customers with Disabilities
Description of Action: 
Rutherford Swim offers swim lessons to persons with developmental disabilities at a discounted rate. Our belief every child should be given the same opportunity to learn how to swim.
Support Community Initiatives
Description of Action: 
The Rutherford Swim Association is committed to the initiative of continuing education, since our inception in 2019 we have started a scholarship fund for Rutherford High School students. We run an annual Holiday Food Drive which all canned food items are delivered to the Rutherford Food Pantry. Rutherford swim supports the community by supporting other Rutherford Non-profits and businesses
