Waste
Waste Reuse
Description of Action:
The bulk of our waste consists of boxes and packing materials from book deliveries. We keep a sizeable stash of book boxes and packing materials in-house which is then used to return unsold inventory at the end of every month. Boxes and packing supplies are also offered to the public for free to be used as moving boxes.
Waste Recycling
Description of Action:
Any smaller boxes or packing materials that are not retained for re-use are recycled. The Borough of Haddonfield collects recycling in the business district 5 days/week. Bottles, cans, paper, cups, plates, etc. are also all recycled.
Hazardous Waste/Toxic Use Reduction
Description of Action:
The store is cleaned with primarily vinegar spray and baking soda or Dr. Bronner's soal using re-usable towels. Use of other cleaners (bleach, e.g.) is limited and only used when deemed necessary. No hazardous/toxic waste is produced.
