We recycle all cardboard, paper, glass & metal containers through the County's single stream recycling program. We also recycle all plastic wrappings & packaging of retail and kitchen products delivered or packaged in plastics.

Description of Action: 
We make our own soup stock with various vegetables & trimmings from our farmers weekly deliveries. We participate in the Organics Composting Program through Sustainable Princeton. All kitchen waste is composted as well as line prep ingredients (egg shells, etc) and consumer generated food waste. We estimate that between 80 to 90 percent of our waste is compostable. Despite what people often think, the cost of participating in the Organics Composting Program is cost neutral at a minimum, not more expensive. Pound for pound, we responsibly manage our waste to leave a zero footprint in our business model.

All our kitchen and store front appliances are Energy Star rated. All restrooms, office space & storage rooms are equipped with motion sensors for lighting. Natural Gas is conserved by reducing hot water temperature in bathrooms which saves 50 therms of Natural Gas per year as well a $62 dollars per year.
