Annual Environmental Goals
Description of Action:
As a system Atlantic Health signed the White House Pledge that was led by the Biden Administration. This pledge states that we have a goal of reducing emissions by 50 percent by 2023 and becoming net zero by 2050. We and 15 percent of all US hospitals are committed to this goal because we recognize how much the healthcare system contributes to domestic emissions and acknowledge climate change is the number one threat to global public health.

We estimate that we will reduce MMC’s carbon emissions by 4,222 tons/year.
