The NJ Sustainable Business Registry has four local farms as members, each showcasing how sustainability can be profitable.  Joining the Registry is a great first step to help farmers measure and document the sustainability of their operation. By developing sustainability metrics farmers will also have an advantage when working with lenders.  Lenders are increasingly viewing long term risk through the lens of environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
