Description of Action:

DKA Environmental Policy Statement

Daniel Kopec Architects LLC has a longstanding belief in environmental stewardship and ecologically-minded solutions. It is our goal to imbue each and every project with effective design strategies, materials and systems that conserve energy and resources, minimize negative environmental impacts, improve occupant comfort, and contribute meaningfully to the community. In order to achieve this end, DKA believes we must lead by example and for that reason the firm operates with a light environmental footprint.

Operating out of an office in an environmentally conscious, adaptive-reuse building situated conveniently between two NJ Transit rail stations, DKA sets an example for minimized energy consumption in transportation and office operation. The firm also minimizes generated waste and maximizes the recycling of the waste that is generated.

The following tenets constitute the current environmental policy of the firm. As a living document this policy will be edited when and wherever advancements can be made.

× DKA strives to educate clients about the cost-effectiveness of environmentally conscious design choices and the cost benefits of energy-efficiency.

× DKA believes in the benefits of a healthy and comfortable work environment. One that employs daylight, excellent indoor air quality, and safe and optimal working conditions.

× DKA strives to minimize generated waste through modified operations and technological advancements.

× DKA believes in the importance of maintaining a foothold on the leading edge of green design strategies. The firm encourages continuing education in the subjects of sustainability, environmental stewardship, and ecologically sound design.

× DKA seeks to promote environmentally conscious practices.

× DKA believe that civic engagement is a critical component to a healthy relationship with the community. The firm supports local charitable foundations and encourages the engagement of its employees in the pursuit of community service.
