Energy Efficiency
Description of Action:
Atlantic Health System has invested in energy efficiency measures throughout its locations. Hackettstown Medical Center is actively transitioning over to energy efficient lamps and LED light bulbs through ongoing replacement of old bulbs and fixtures as they reach the end of their life cycle. LED bulbs are at least 40% more efficient over fluorescent and incandescent bulbs, and provide 50,000 to 100,000 hours of light per piece.Occupancy sensors have been installed in bathrooms, offices and conference rooms throughout the Hackettstown facilities. The sensors trigger lights to come on and stay on while the rooms are in use, but they prevent lights from having to be on unnecessarily resulting in significant energy savings.
