The Refill Market partners with multiple suppliers who take back their containers for reuse, thus "closing the loop" and keeping plastic out of the waste stream.

The Refill Market reuses as much packaging material (boxes, packing peanuts, brown kraft paper) as possible. If I have excess, I donate it to other small businesses. I also accept donations of brown kraft paper bags for customers who need a bag for their purchase.

The Refill Market offers several in-store recycling programs to the public. Customers can recycle the following items: writing instruments and packaging (pens, markers, mechanical pencils, paint sets, empty glue sticks), crayons, oral care products and packaging (toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and caps, floss containers), health and nutrition products and packaging, Brita water filters, razors and packaging, and plastic bags. I estimate our recycling programs have already saved at least 20 pounds of otherwise-trash from entering the waste stream.
