Provide Environmentally Preferable Products Services
Description of Action:
Honor Yoga features many eco-friendly products in our shops, including cork yoga blocks, bamboo and organic clothing, eco-friendly yoga mats and organic lavender products from a local farm. Our shopping bags are reusable.
Waste
Waste Reduction
Description of Action:
Honor Yoga seeks to reduce its waste through a variety of initiatives. Paper waste is reduced by only providing cloth hand towels in the bathroom and for cleaning. Additionally, shopping bags are reusable. We discourage the use of bottled water by providing biodegradable, BPA free reusable travel mugs and glass bottles to students, along with offering filtered water where students can fill their own bottles. Honor Yoga only offers biodegradable cups for water upon request. In the Manalapan studio, we estimate that approximately 98% of our members use refillable water bottles. We also supply bio cups and go thru approximately 100 per month and 6 large bottles of water. We also enforce the use of the website almost exclusively for marketing and only print off 1 copy of each workshop flyer to be placed on our wood bulletin board.

Description of Action:
Honor Yoga is committed to Green Building practices, and has designed each studio to incorporate sustainable materials. Bamboo flooring, a renewable resource, is utilized throughout every studio. Additionally, every studio has a living, breathing vertical garden, which improves indoor air quality for both staff and students. In the Manalapan studio barn doors made from natural products cover the studio space.
