Adopt Environmental Policy Statement
Description of Action:

CPG is committed to creating packaging that minimizes environmental impact, particularly when compared against rigid packaging options. During the manufacturing of our products, we strive for maximum conservation of raw materials and minimization of related waste, production processes, and energy consumption.

Provide Environmentally Preferable Products Services
Description of Action:

CPG is in the forefront of developing environmentally friendly films for all applications. Among them are: Post Consumer Resin, Bio-Degradable Polyethylene, Photo-Degradable Polyethylene, Re-cycled Polyethylene CPG performs packaging audits on existing packaging/specifications to reduce the amount of packaging materials used in a given application without compromising on the durability, performance, and appearance of the package. The results of these re-engineering processes are reductions in the cost of packaging, transportation and the amount of energy consumed in the manufacture of our products.

Waste
Waste Recycling
Description of Action:
CPG resells or reprocesses a majority of the polyethylene trim materials which are a by-product of our manufacturing process. In addition, we have recycling programs in place for many commonly used materials, such as cores, pallets, scrap metal. and all corrugated paper products.
Hazardous Waste/Toxic Use Reduction
Description of Action:
Our lamination division has replaced all solvent-based adhesives with more environmentally-friendly adhesive technologies. We re-cycle and reclaim all solvents used in our Flexographic printing Process. This is a savings of $225,000 per year.

Energy Efficiency
Description of Action:
Energy efficiency is a major area of focus in CPGs’ environmental sustainability initiatives. To reduce energy usage in our manufacturing locations, we have recently: • Replaced the high intensity discharge lights with more efficient fluorescent lighting and LED lighting • In our warehouse, we have Installed lighting controls to ensure that areas are only lit when they are occupied • Adjusted the compressed air settings (in certain areas) to lower the consumption of electric-drive power • Installed variable speed drives on oxidizers in our Ridgefield Park, NJ facility to reduce the volume of natural gas required for incineration. • Installed a recovery system to capture waste heat as a supplement to our natural gas usage.
